Important setup hints

First steps

  1. Access your email in a browser at webmail.emailsrvr.com (or email.YOURDOMAINNAME.com). Here you can set password recovery, spam settings, and change passwords.
  2. Access the Email Support Center for step-by-step setup on your phone, tablet, or Outlook at help.emailsrvr.com.
  3. Updating Outlook from an old GoDaddy setup? Use Microsoft's change account settings guide with the settings below.

IMAP cheat sheet

Incoming (IMAP) server: secure.emailsrvr.com · Security: SSL · Port 993

Outgoing (SMTP) server: secure.emailsrvr.com · Security: SSL · Port 465 · Authentication required: On

Username: your full email address · Password: your mailbox password

Note: even if a field says optional, it is not. Skipping outgoing username/password means you will not be able to send email.

On Apple Mail and Android/Fire devices, delete the existing account and create a new IMAP account from scratch using the settings above. Use your own email address wherever the instructions show a sample address.

Step-by-step setup using the online support system

  1. Log in to help.emailsrvr.com with your email address and password so the instructions are specific to you.
  2. On a phone or tablet, delete the existing account and start from scratch so all settings are correct.
  3. Choose your device or software. If yours is not listed, pick the closest or generic version, the settings are the same.
  4. Always choose IMAP, not POP, ActiveSync, or MobileSync. Follow the screenshots exactly.
  5. If it fails, double-check every setting, or delete and recreate the account.

Before calling or emailing for help

There are countless devices and apps for email, and it almost always comes down to one incorrect setting.

  1. Double check all settings. One small typo will cause it to fail.
  2. Log in at webmail.emailsrvr.com to confirm your password is correct.
  3. Delete the account on the device that is not working and recreate it.
